Corbin Gotwalt Bass Fishing Sponsorship

Time Frame: I start fishing from when the ice is off of the lake and will fish
until the boat ramp is frozen over. Tournaments run from April through
November.

Type of fishing: Bass fishing - Smallmouth, Largemouth, and Spotted Bass.

How I got interested: I got interested through fishing with my dad. He taught
me to fish from the time I was born up until the day he died. When he died I
was at the age of 12 and had the choice to either never pick up a rod again,
or pick up the rod even more. I decided that I had to keep going fishing
because it feels like every time out there it is just me and him fishing. Now I
could have just kept the skills that he taught me, but I decided to really take
up a passion in the sport to honor his memory. I knew that I would have to
learn many different techniques in order to be able to compete at the highest
level possible. I messed around with some baits and when the Thursday night
tournaments started three years ago I had never heard of them. The first year
they existed I did not fish any of them. Two years ago I fished about half of
them and finished 25th in the angler of the year race. Last year was the first

full year of tournament experience on different waters and it was through the
NCS Sponsorship that I was able to fish all of the local tournaments. After one
and a half years of tournament fishing, I know that this is something that I
enjoy doing, and intend to keep doing for a long period of time.

Rewards: Money, bragging rights, plaques, and trophies.

How I ranked last year: Last year I stayed local and did not branch out very
much because I wanted to learn some more techniques and become more
versatile in catching bass. I also wanted to gain confidence in those techniques
that I learned. In September I joined the South Central PA Basscasters. This is
the local bass club that runs the Thursday night tournaments that I finished
12th in last year. In the middle of this Thursday night tournament trail I was
able to pick up a second place to boost me in the standings.  I also finished the
year ranked fifth in our club for angler of the year.

Goals for this year: This year I would like to qualify for the State tournament
which can be done either through MR. BASS on May 15th and May 16th, or it
can be done through the district tournaments. If I can qualify for the state
tournament this year, I would be very excited since it is my first year fishing
the big water such as the Potomac River and Susquehanna flats. If it was not
for NCS, I would not be able to afford to fish these tournaments. I want to
not only qualify for the state bass fishing tournament, but also gain as much
experience as possible for the next year. Thank you NCS for giving me this
opportunity to fish these tournaments this year.

Education: Sophomore at Mount Saint Mary’s University. Majoring in Secondary
Education Social Studies

Work: Lodge associate at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Hanover, Pennsylvania .
I sell guns, hunting accessories, fishing rods, reels, tackle, camping equipment,
kayaks, and other water sports equipment.

Quote: Thank You NCS for allowing me to continue my passion for bass fishing
tournaments. It has really giving me a gateway to achieve my lifelong dream
of fishing on the professional circuit someday in my father’s memory.

NCS:
Helping others is part of the NCS Culture – especially promoting our youth.
We look upon this sponsorship not as an avenue to necessary gain exposure in
our target markets, but rather a way in helping teach accountability,
strategies, goal planning and other business related activities.

We are very proud of Corbin and how he is advancing in his skill level at the
tournaments, as well as his development as a young man. I remember going
fishing as a young girl with my father, and it was always a special time and I
have many fond memories. Now I see my own son with his father fishing and
it warms my heart. Business is not just about profit and loss, but being able to
give back and if we can help someone reach their dreams, it is all worth it.

Corbin's 2009 Tournament Schedule and Results will be posted and updated on a regular basis.
